We often think of diet as simply the food and drink we consume. But if we trace the word back to its Greek origin, diaita, it actually means "a way of life."

Your diet is more than what’s on your plate. It includes everything you take in — through your senses, your environment, your thoughts, your media.
What you listen to. What you read. What you scroll through. What you believe. All of it becomes part of your inner world.

Modern science now shows us how digital stimulation, screen time, and blue light affect not just our minds but our hormonal balance, emotional states, and even sleep.
For example, exposure to screens late at night suppresses melatonin, a natural hormone that regulates your circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle).
This is one simple way our “diet” — visual, mental and emotional — affects our energy, mood, and rest.
